Dr. Shantonio Birch is the CEO & Founder of ThermoVerse and a DOE Innovation Crossroads Fellow at the Oak Ridge National Lab. As a Innovation Crossroads Fellow, Dr. Birch works closely with DOE staff scientists to accelerate the adoption of new building technologies, including ThermoVerse's proprietary smart insulation material system. And as the CEO & Founder of ThermoVerse, he leads a team of young and vibrant professionals who are committed to an equitable net-zero transition. An islander, entrepreneur, and a self-described global citizen, Dr. Birch brings to the Michigan Tech scene new perspectives for responding to the call for energy equity and climate resilience by transforming the grid edge to better accommodate EVs and solar.
