Michael Polk was born and raised in Detroit, MI. He comes from a long line of entrepreneurs and trailblazers. His Great-Grandfather was one of the first Black Men to graduate from UofM’s medical school and founded the first Black Owned Cancer Hospital in Southeast Michigan. His uncle co-founded First Independence Bank. Michael Co-Founded his first business, a retail clothing store, at 18, one week after graduating from High School. He later went on to Bethune-Cookman University, where he obtained a B.S. in International Business. After graduation, he exited the business and had the idea for Stock Pal, an investment trading platform to help beginner investors become more financially literate.
