Kurt has been involved in Michigan’s investment and entrepreneurial ecosystem for most of his career. As a Partner with GM Ventures, he sources and leads venture investments that bring strategic value to the GM enterprise, and supports the firm’s external and internal engagement strategy. Prior to joining GM Ventures, Kurt was co-founder and Vice President & General Counsel of Applied Licensing, LLC, an angel investment organization specializing in intellectual property development and monetization. He is a founding member of the Pointe Angels investment club, and served as the group’s Lead for over three years. Kurt frequently volunteers his time to assist founders and innovation through his engagements with entrepreneur support organizations and academic institutions in Michigan.

Kurt is a licensed attorney with a background in public policy. He holds a BA in Public Policy from the University of Michigan Gerald R. Ford School of Public Policy, and a JD from the University of Wisconsin Law School.
